Let’s talk about website design with conversion in mind.

It’s Not About You – It’s About Them

There are lots of things to consider, though I feel this is the most important. As business owners, it’s easy to get wrapped up in what we like and what we want to see. I get it, as a business owner, my first website design was much like that. Time and experience have taught me that, above all else, your website is NOT FOR YOU. Hard to accept though a solid truth. Your website needs to be designed with your ideal client in mind. Your website is meant to project your brand and personality while presenting it in a manner appealing to your audience.

Think of it this way, if you don’t LIKE the website you’re on, do you stay? By designing for the audience, you’re more likely to capture, keep and convert the eyes you attract.

Give them a Reason to Return

If they like the website, that’s half the battle. The other half is keeping your website relevant so that they feel compelled to return. Very few individuals will make a spur of the moment purchase from a vendor they don’t know. By giving your audience a reason to return, you’re also ensuring you stay fresh in their minds when they are ready to purchase.

Before planning your website design, consider what you’ll give them on a recurring basis. Things like:

1 – BLOG. This gives you an opportunity to establish credibility, increase SEO opportunities, and give them a reason to come back for more on a regular basis.

2 – Videos. These are a great way to ensure your brand personality and yours comes through loud and clear. It may not always be easy, though getting comfortable with this format could lead to an increase in followers and conversions. To make your brand reach a large audience, you can create different voice over videos in different languages. Various AI tools let you create professional brand videos quickly and easily.

3 – Freebies. People like free stuff. Give them free stuff, they will remember you fondly. Give them something they use all the time, and they will be back for more. I believe in GIVING as a means of business growth, which is why I created this great little planning sheet.
